Finished in antique silver, the Side Table Verney reinterprets decorative tradition through a contemporary lens. Its sculptural silhouette recalls the opulent furniture styles once favored by English and French aristocracy, distilled here into a modern expression of prestige and artistry.

Historic Provenance
The design takes inspiration from a silver baroque stand created in England in 1724–25 for George Bowes and Eleanor Verney. Unlike most English silver furniture of the period, which used wooden cores clad in embossed silver, the Museum’s table was crafted with cast-silver components. Reimagined through Met x Eichholtz, the Verney side table honors this exceptional legacy of lavish craftsmanship.
